Alfons Hörmann’s Career and Hardships

Alfons Hörmann started his career in the building materials fabrication industry in 1977. He worked his way up through the ranks, and by 1997 he was the CEO of a company that produced metal products for the construction industry. In 2003, he was elected to the board of directors for the German industrial giant ThyssenKrupp. He served on the board until 2015 when he was elected to the supervisory board of ThyssenKrupp AG.

Hörmann is currently the chairman of the supervisory board for Thyssenkrupp Materials AG. Alfons Hörmann has been a driving force in the German economy for decades. He is a respected business leader and has served on the boards of some of Germany’s largest companies. He is currently the chairman of the supervisory board for Thyssenkrupp Materials AG, one of the world’s leading materials suppliers for the construction industry. Hörmann’s extensive experience in building materials fabrication makes him uniquely qualified to lead Thyssenkrupp Materials AG.

Hörmann has been actively involved in sports recently. In 2014, he was the chairman of the German Ski Association. He has also been a member of the International Olympic Committee since 2012. Hörmann’s experience in business and sports make him a well-rounded individual. He is a respected leader in both fields.

The covid-19 pandemic proved hard for Hormann. In 2020 he had to step down as the German Olympic Sports Confederation president after a dispute over how to deal with the virus. The pandemic also forced him to cancel his plans to retire from Thyssenkrupp in 2021. Despite these challenges, Hörmann remains an active and respected business leader in Germany.
