Edgard Corona is the founder and CEO of Bio Ritmo and Smart Fit. He graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro with a degree in Business Administration and completed his MBA at the Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City.

Edgard Corona joined the Mexican e-commerce company, BuyVIP in 2014 as a sales manager. In 2015 he co-founded Bio Ritmo with his brother. The company develops products for individuals suffering from obesity and diabetes, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology to create more personalized healthcare solutions for people worldwide.

Edgard Corona has been involved in several companies since graduating college. He has held various positions, including Vice President of Sales at BuyVIP (2014), Executive Director of Marketing and Business Development at GloFish – a startup focused on developing an aquaponics system that would produce fish, plants, shrimp tanks, and other products to sell online (2015), Executive Director of Marketing at Gulls Technologies (2016) and Head of Business Development at Smart Fit (2016). Edgard has received several awards and recognitions. He was named Adweek’s “Rookie of the Year” in 2016 and was recognized by “Forbes” as a “30 under 30” for his work with Bio Ritmo in 2017. In 2018 he was named one of the top five entrepreneurs in Latin America by the Mexican Institute of Corporate Directors (IMCO). Also, Bio Ritmo has been recognized by several organizations for its research and development of AI-based products and their impact on the world.

According to Corona, he was inspired to start Bio Ritmo after reading an article by a medical student living with diabetes. The student mentioned that the only way she could afford insulin was to buy it on the black market. This problem led Corona to create his first product, Smart Fit: a smart-watch-like bracelet that tracks blood sugar levels and alerts users when they are at risk of diabetes.
