Jason Hughes is a prominent and influential commercial property representative in the San Diego area. Jason Hughes first began his training for this field through his education at Pepperdine University. There, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in business. Following Pepperdine University, Jason Hughes attended the University of San Diego where he earned his Master of Business Administration. After his education, Jason Hughes took his first step into his current field by obtaining a role at Cushman & Wakefield in Los Angeles, California in the 1980s. 


It was soon evident to Jason Hughes that this was the perfect field for him. Today, Jason Hughes is the Chairman, CEO, and Owner of Hughes Marino alongside his partner and wife Shay Hughes. For over 20 years Jason Hughes has used his firm to represent tenants in their negotiations for commercial properties. Furthering his impact on the San Diego community, Hughes pushed forth new legislation. 


Thus, they are protecting the rights of commercial tenants known as Dual Agency Disclosure Bill (SB 1171) that was signed into law by the California Governor in August of 2014. Jason Hughes explains that this bill promotes transparency in the favor of tenants when working with agents that are both representing tenants and landlords that could result in a conflict of interest for their clients. 


Overall, Jason Hughes has certainly left a substantial impact on commercial property owners and tenants in California as a whole, especially those in the San Diego area. The CEO and successful entrepreneur has dedicated his life and career in protecting the interests of commercial tenants (both nonprofit and for profit) and has done quite a successful job.
